Ascot racecourse was drastically altered in 2005.
A new stand was built, and the straight course was moved by 42 metres.
The whole of the straight mile was disrupted, and there was a lot of re-turfing.
All these alterations meant that the straight mile was a new course in 2006.
The Ascot charts therefore start from scratch, showing only 2006 results onwards.

Speculation during 2006 that the Low side of the Ascot straight rode faster than the High side certainly wasn't supported by these 2006 results
Most races had more than 20 runners, so it remains to be seem what happens in smaller fields.
As a general rule, draw advantages are more likely to show up in races with 8 to 18 runners, rather than 20 plus.
