You may see draw advantage advice for Bath
recommending "Low numbers best" or "Surprisingly, Low does not
generally provide an edge so High may be value, especially in sprints", or
words to that effect.
Results here are not reliable season on season.
Although there may appear to be an advantage on the day, this has always been
a pattern of no advantage in the long term. All races in 2005
and 2006 had the stalls positioned Low.
This is a left handed course with a bend, but the draw over the last 10 years has
slightly favoured the Top half of the
draw.
However, there are spreads of results throughout this pattern, and there is no
clustering of results in a minority of stalls anywhere on this chart.
On good or better going In 2004, stalls 1 to 6 won 6 of 10 races.
In 2005, 4 of 8 winners started from stalls 1 to 5.
In 2006, 8 of 11 races were won from the Top 6 stalls, with 5 of those winners
starting from stalls 1 to 6.
Those results demonstrate a degree of inconsistency, and show why results
are spread if we look at several seasons results. On good/good to soft in places or
softer going the few results
are spread cross most stalls.
Above 16 runners, the Bottom half won 3 races, the Top half 4.
