The dominant factor in these races as far as the draw is concerned, is
undoubtedly the distance of 1 mile.
Throughout the country, there are very few course and distances beyond 6F that
produce strong draw advantage patterns worth betting on.
Compared to sprint distances at Beverley and other courses, this pattern is weak from a betting point of view.
On good or better going, the Bottom half, Top half split favours the Top
half of the draw by 54 (60%) races against 29.
7 other winners were drawn dead centre.
The Top 6 stalls won 59 of 90 races 65.5%.
In 2005 on good or better going, 8 of 12 races were won from the Top 4 stalls,
but in 2006 the Top 6 stalls won only 5 of 11 races.
There are obvious spreads
of results in races of 8, 9, 11, 12, 16 and 17 runners.
The best that can be said of this course and distance is that on good or
better going the overall pattern favours the Top half of the draw.
There is no recommendation.
On good/good to soft
in places or softer going, the Top 6 stalls
won 20 of 29
races 70%.
In races of 8 to 12 runners, the Top 6 stalls won 12 of 13 races, but with so few
runners over such a long distance, it would be foolish to recommend that as a
reliable draw advantage.
Above 12 runners, the Top 6 stalls only won 8 of 16 races.
