This used to be one of the strongest patterns on any U.K. racecourse until the drainage on the straight course was improved in the 1980's.
This 9 year chart shows no really significant advantage, but if we look at only the previous 5 years' results
there is once again a very strong pattern forming here concerning the Top few stalls.
There were no races in 2006 due to the building of a new grandstand.

F (9 of 22) = a flip start of heavy going.
9 year analysis 1997 - 2005 :-
On good or better going, the Bottom half, Top half split favours the Top half of the draw by 35 wins to 29.
On good or better going, the Top 6 stalls won 33 of 65 races 50%.
That is a very low percentage for 6 stalls.
On good or better going in races of 8 to 14 runners, the Top 6 stalls won 24 of 38 races 63%.

There is a good cluster of wins from the Top 6 stalls in races of 11 to 13 and 14 runners, but this is a very narrow part of the chart.
In races of 15 to 21 runners, the Top 6 stalls won only 3 of 12 races, and there is a very obvious spread of results in races of 22 runners.

On good/good to soft in places or softer going results are spread across most stalls.

2006 results :- No races due to the building of a new grandstand.

2005 results to Sept 10th :-  8-8, 7-12, 12-12, 3-13, 17-17,11-20, 17-20, 3-21
