Despite a 90 degree left hand bend shortly after
the start, and a further left-hander on the hill entering the straight, horses
drawn Low have only been very marginally favoured in these races.
You may see draw advantage advice for Pontefract recommending "Low numbers
best", or "Low numbers best on soft ground".
That advice may be intended for sprint distances, but the majority of wins in 5F
and 6F sprints have not been won by horses drawn Low during the last 10 years.
All patterns up to 1m at Ponte are
very weak.
At first glance, the Bottom half, Top half split indicates a Low advantage, but
any bias in these races has been very marginal,
Wins are spread across most stalls throughout this chart on all types of going.
On good or better going, stalls
1 to 6 won 73 of 136 races 53%.
That is a very low percentage for 6 stalls.
The Top 6 stalls won 55 of 136 races.
The Bottom half of the draw won 78 of 136 races 57%, again a very low percentage
for up to 10 horses.
There is no recommendation.
On good/good
to soft in places or softer
going, results are spread.
